Gone but not forgotten!

Well, today is a sad, sad day...the SRM shipped to the lucky sales winner. I admit, I am sad to see it go as the powermeter has been a great training tool for me for a while. However, I realized I hit my saturation point with it during a training ride not too long ago, when, trying to hold some wheels, I looked down at the power control, only to give up once I saw my number. I knew at that point that the data had gotten the best of me, and, created that dreaded "paralysis by analysis". That, to me, was sorta the hint to take it off the bike for a while and just ride. So, I did, and I'm having a blast riding and just holding wheels. When you take that mental piece out, and, just focus on the task at hand, you don't put as much pressure on yourself, and, are actually more able to put in a good performance. I feel that with all the TTing and awesome training that Frank gave me, I can tell now by RPE when I'm going too hard, and, when I'm not going hard enough. So, for now, I'm going to enjoy the ride!

In OTHER news, I now have something else to be obsessed with, and that's the GPS data. I purchased the Garmin City Navigator micro SD card for the Edge which provides street-level detail on the screen. For some reason I am dorking out over this stuff, mainly % grade and total ascent ft. Oh well...first power, now this. Here we go again!
