Thursday!

Well, due to last night's weather, I skipped Cherry Creek. I did my time in the crappy weather last week! I opted to ride indoors, and, do some pracitce for the upcoming Iron Horse Classic in April. I doubt I'll get down there to pre-ride the course beforehand, so, doing the virtual reality DVD is just as good...or at least it's gonna have to be! Last T-bird day, Amy & I rode Coal Bank pass and it was gorgeous, but also difficult. It was definitely steeper than the DVD in real life, but, I think I was grossly under-nourished so my body was climbing VERY slow...not unlike when I'm fully nurished, but, hey, who's keeping track? After 1hr of trainer time, I made some dinner and sat on the couch, making a concsious effort to watch the Clinton / Obama debate. I gotta say, they go after each other so much, and, the questions that are being asked are so nit-picky, that it makes it very difficult to watch. The alternatives were either Next Top Chef, or...ugh...Scrubs

In other news, i've been tuning back into WXDU out of Raleigh-Durham North Carolina via stream. This is a college radio station run by the Duke student union, and I have picked up more music in the last 3 years due to this station, than any other source (i.e. AvClub record reviews, friend recommendations, other stations). It's such a diverse mix that I find it fits my personal eclectic tastes to a tee. Mind you they do play some shitty noise rock (simply because it's a college station), but, overall they get a 98 out of 100. Check it out and tune in here. New bands include Stella by Starlight, El Perro Del Mar, and Truckers of Husk. Just great stuff!! I do get some flack from my future Tarheel wife about it being a Duke affiliated station, but, I tell her, it's strictly for the music.

This weekend is some TT & Road Race action. Both races are down a the Air Force Academy, and, from the looks of the profiles, should be tough. The TT I have no idea, but, the road race is a climber's race. Yeah, in almost every cycling related post I've admitted to not climbing that fast, but, to overcome you have to pracitce your weaknesses!
