Well it's Friday (and payday..woohoo!), and with the exception of last night's ineffective snowstorm, it looks like the weather is going to at least hold out for a nice long ride tomorrow.
The week has gotten better as it's progressed, as far as being able to do stuff outdoors, and I just want one nice weekend all the way through! Of course, snow is expected on Sunday, but, we'll see what happens. I spent two nights at the gym this week and, while I bought a 20 pack of visits knowing the snow isn't over...I'm reluctant to go back. I will though. It'd be a waste of money if I didn't!!
Last night we went to India Oven located wayy south on Colorado Blvd. With it becoming more and more difficult for Amy to make up her mind about what to eat, (poor thing!) we opted for a buffet style dinner so she could basically eat what she wanted at the VERY moment she decided what that was. The food was very very good, and, if you've never been to India Oven, I highly recommend it. The Naan was great, and, every so often you could see grandma in the back making all the food when the kitchen door would swing back and forth. We opted for a nice snowy walk when we got home to be out in the fresh air, and it felt soooo good.
My body is finally recovering from the course of antibiotics I was taking for the past week. After last night's final dose at dinner, I was never more relieved to get on with feeling normal again. I've never felt like hurling more in my life. Ughhhhh. Of course, these days if it's not one thing it's another. My back has been feeling sooo good for the last month or so. I haven't complained about it...hell..even THOUGHT about it. After Jason shimmed the shoes, I'd been walkign aroudn with an extra insole in my left shoe to help overcome the leg length discrepancy. Well, for some reason, I hadn't put it back in for the last week. When I went to the gym or rode, I did...but just plain old walking around, I never replaced it. I'm kinda feeling a bit rough today, so, I inserted it back into my shoes, and, already I'm noticing a difference in the way my foot strikes the ground.
How did it happen? So, Wednesday, after my 1st ride outdoors in exactly 1 week, I finsihed riding, and, opted to take the stairs with my gear bag and stuff. Usually I will take the elevator just cuz, but, I skipped it because of the potential company I might have to ride it with. Before you roll your eyes or judge me, every single person has people they try to avoid in general because they are annoying! You would have done the same thing! HOWEVER, the moral of the story is...always ride the elevator and don't be a dick. As I climbed the stairs (no lie, I swear!) my back started freaking out, and I could feel a change in my alignment within 20 seconds of walking. My knee started hurting, my ankle, then, my hip,and ultimately my back. By the time I got to my desk, everything was back to square 1. I've been sitting on this heating pad like it's part of my body for the last 3 days now, and, i'm starting to feel better. I'm ok when I ride, it's just annoying with everything else. Luckily I am getting a massage on Monday which will really help.
If only I'd taken the elevator!
